So I had this crazy thought

I manageds to post this without anything by mistake. anyway, I've now patched my pants that I am currently wearing several times, using the fabric from 2 other pairs of jeans. I have 2 new holes in these jeans that I wear, so I will soon have to patch them more. The issue is this: it is feasible that I completely reconstruct half of each of the others, yet also reconstruct my pants that I am wearing using the pants particles that float around me, and also another pair of jeans from the remaining material. This is like the ship of theseus but with pants.

Okay, aside from this whole thing being a little on the incoherent side, I am going to comment what I have always thought about the whole ship of Theseus thing. If the materials currently used in the pants contain absolutely no part of the original, than it is not the same pair of pants. It is just different materials made to the same patter. The ship of Theseus is the same thing. None of the old materials in the new ship were form the old ship, so although the people on it are still calling it the ship of Theseus, it is actually only an exact copy that carries on the functions of the original ship.
